creviston & Fader Duo

TOGETHER SINCE 2005, CHRISTOPHER CREVISTON AND OREN FADER have acquired a reputation of commissioning, performing and recording new compositions for the instrumentation of saxophone with electric guitar. Their concerts are presentations of music written specifically for them by established, award-winning composers and emerging young notables. The flexible palette of a saxophone combined with the endless array of sounds available through the use of guitar pedals affords this small ensemble an enormous range of colors, allowing for effortless crossing of genres. Composers writing for the duo employ textures typically associated with contemporary acoustic classical music, jazz, rock, or even edgier noises, and are encouraged to include improvisation.
To date, composers John Anthony Lennon, Gregory Wanamaker, Dorothy Chang, Brian Coughlin, David Claman, Eric Schwartz, Evan Hause, Liza Sobel, Erin Rogers, Whitney Ashe, Michael Djupstrom, and Damon Ferrante have all contributed to the duo's repertoire.
THEIR ALBUM, "THRASH", WAS MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH GENEROUS FUNDING FROM THE AARON COPLAND FUND. RECORDED ON THE WHITE PINE LABEL IN 2011, THE ALBUM IS NOW AVAILABLE ON ITUNES AND AMAZON.
